Towing

To tow the boat, a rope is tied to the mast and looped around the end of the bumpkin. This takes some juggling and diving to get in place; the experienced members of the crew will do this. It is preferable to use the tow rope from the towing vessel. The rescue boat will tow you to the nearest beach; this is a slow process.
