Tap a number on the map for its details. A walk's minutes allow 75 metres a minute, a steady pace on Kirribilli's hills.

By train

T1 North Shore line trains from the city (Wynyard, Town Hall and Central) and from Chatswood and Hornsby stop here; Central Coast trains too. The station has lifts to both platforms. From the station it is 540 m to the clubhouse, about 7 minutes, by Ennis Road, Broughton Street, Willoughby Street and McDougall Street: the dashed line from 2 on the map.

By ferry

Three wharves are within a quarter of an hour's walk, two ferry routes between them, both from Circular Quay.

For a Saturday's racing the North Sydney wharf is the one to aim for: the F5 lands you on Careening Cove itself, and the walk round the head of the cove passes Milson Park to the clubhouse. Check the sailing on the trip planner: the F5 loop changes direction through the day, and weekend sailings are fewer than weekday ones.

By bus

Which routes run on a given day, and when, is on the trip planner; the 269 loop is a weekday service on the timetables the club has seen.

From Milsons Point every way to the clubhouse is downhill at the end: Kirribilli's streets fall to the water, and McDougall Street ends at the club's gate. The Sydney Harbour Bridge footway and cycleway come down into Bradfield Park at Milsons Point, by the station, so a walker or a rider from the city joins the station's walk there.

By car, and parking

Being surveyed The club is recording what each parking sign in the streets round the clubhouse allows on a race day. Where a car can stay from rigging to the bar will be listed here, and marked on the map, when that is done.

What is known now. Most streets in Kirribilli and Milsons Point are short-term parking seven days a week, and the streets round the clubhouse, McDougall Street among them, are in North Sydney Council's resident permit Area 2: a resident's permit lets a car stay past the sign's limit, and nothing else does. The council publishes its map of the permit areas and which meters run on public holidays, but no map of the time limits: the signs are the only authority, and the council's own maps say so.

By boat

The harbour guide places the marina beside the clubhouse, the public ramp next to it and the courtesy mooring nearest the club, each with its distance.

Once here

Sailors sign on at the clubhouse; visiting sailors says how a crew from another club gets a ride. Foys Kirribilli, the restaurant, and the Flying Bear, the cafe, are on the wharf below the clubhouse, and the venue pages carry their hours.

The positions, the streets and each walk are OpenStreetMap's, copied 2 November 2026 by the club's own script, with the walks measured along OpenStreetMap's footpaths and streets. Which trains, ferries and buses call where is from Transport for NSW's Sydney ferries network map of 18 August 2025 and its Milsons Point station public transport map of 30 November 2025, both open data under a Creative Commons Attribution licence, read 2 November 2026. Times are not on this page: the trip planner has them. Parking facts are from North Sydney Council's parking pages, read the same day; the council's maps may be linked but not copied, so none is shown here.
